Every relationship that man is a part of is based on the true emotion of love and care, be it between parents and children, siblings, husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, or friends in general.

Valentine’s Day, celebrated throughout the world on February 14 every year, is a gala affair of love and cheer. It is that special day of the year when lovers try to do something exceptional for one another to show how much they mean to one another.

History of Valentine’s Day

Though Valentine’s Day is celebrated in many parts of the world with lots of fervor and excitement, not many know the history of this day. There are many tales about Saint Valentine and his maiden greeting to his beloved. Some say that Valentine was a priest during the reign of Emperor Claudius II who defied the king’s orders by performing secret marriages for people in love and was thus killed by the emperor.

Another legend says that Valentine was killed for helping Christian prisoners escape from Roman prisons. The most popular version, however, suggests that Valentine sent the first Valentine greeting to the girl he fell in love with while in prison, signed “from your Valentine,” an expression that lasts to this day.
